The customer reached out to us for a full roof replacement due to the advanced age and wear of their existing roof. Having applied and qualified for the SC Safe Home grant program—which assists homeowners with wind-mitigation retrofits—they contacted us to perform the full replacement using grant-approved, storm-resistant installation standards.
To resolve the problem, we completed a full roof replacement adhering strictly to SC Safe Home program standards. We began by removing the aging shingle system down to the decking. We then reinforced the roof deck attachment with high-wind fasteners and installed a secondary water barrier across the entire deck to maximize protection against wind-driven rain. Finally, we installed a new high-wind-rated architectural shingle system, complete with new drip edge, flashing, and ridge caps, and finalized all program inspection requirements to ensure full compliance.
