Hurricane-Ready Roofing: The Charleston Guide to Impact-Resistant Shingles
Because South Carolina has seen at least one tropical cyclone during 42 of the past 50 hurricane seasons, many homeowners
The homeowner reached out to us due to concerns regarding their aging chimney chase cover and spark arrestor. Over time, exposure to the elements creates a risk of rust, degradation, and water intrusion into the internal chimney structure. To prevent hidden water damage and protect the home’s integrity, a complete replacement and custom-fitted seal were needed.
To resolve the issue, we began by removing the existing chase cover and spark arrestor to thoroughly inspect the chimney’s internal structure for hidden damage. Next, we custom-fabricated a brand-new aluminum chase cover for an exact fit. Both the new chase cover and the existing spark arrestor were treated with a rust-inhibiting primer to prevent future corrosion. Finally, we installed the new chase cover and spark arrestor, restoring full protection and weatherproofing to the system.
